The Ask
2Modern engaged Lemonade to replatform their eCommerce experience to Shopify Plus while preserving the complexity of their catalog and fulfillment model. The goal was to move to a modern, maintainable Online Store 2.0 architecture that could support performance improvements, flexible merchandising, and sophisticated product configurations—specifically bundled products and multi-packs—without disrupting their existing dropshipping and vendor fulfillment workflows.
Our approach
We approached the project as both a platform migration and a systems integration challenge. The site was rebuilt on Shopify Plus using a custom Online Store 2.0 theme based on Dawn, treating the theme as a flexible foundation rather than a finished product. We extended the theme to support 2Modern’s merchandising needs and designed custom bundling and multi-pack logic that aligned with how customers shop for modern furniture collections, while remaining fully compatible with inventory management, order routing, and dropshipping operations.
Our Solution
The result is a scalable, Shopify-native commerce platform that balances flexibility with operational stability. 2Modern now operates on a customized Dawn-based Online Store 2.0 theme with robust bundling and multi-pack functionality that integrates seamlessly with their dropshipping platform. The new system improves performance, simplifies ongoing maintenance, and gives the internal team greater control—providing a durable foundation for continued optimization, merchandising, and growth without the need for another replatform.
